The Ukrainian Marimba Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra. This is a version for Marimba and Percussion Ensemble (10 players + soloist).
Instrumentation:
Marimba SOLO 5-octave, Glockenspiel & Tubular Bells (one player), Vibraphone,
Two 5-octave marimbas, or can be played on one 5-octave (2 players share one instrument) + 4.3-octave (two players share one instrument), Xylophone, 4 Timpani, 3 Low Tom-Toms, Tam Tam, Bass Drum, Orchestral Cymbals, Suspended Cymbal.
Concerto pays tribute to Ukraine's brave and peaceful people striving for freedom and peace amidst Russian aggression. The Ukrainian Marimba Concerto honours the resilient spirit of Ukraine amid Russian aggression. Dedicated to my mum and brother, enduring these hardships, the piece blends contemporary styles with Ukraine's cultural traditions. It reflects the pain of the invasion while celebrating the courage of soldiers and civilians.
1st Movement - Invasion of the Horde.
Despite claims of a quick conquest, Ukraine's resilience continues after nearly three years. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!
